Ron Ten Berge loved his 40s. He
had some amazing adventures with his family during that time. He participated
in fun activities and traveled to many interesting places. He was able to conquer
some intense physical activities.
Some of the physical challenges
he participated in were Camp Smile a Mile Bike Ride, which is a ride of 154
miles in one day.
He did this in Alabama to raise money for children with
cancer and raised over five thousand dollars for the charity When he lived in
Oregon, he rode from Seattle to Portland in two days.
That is about 220 miles. He and
his son and the Boy Scouts hiked one hundred miles in one week with forty-pound
back packs. Ron Ten Berge is super proud of these accomplishments.
He believes
that when you are in your 40s, you become reflective about the legacy you want
to leave in this world but he also believes that there are many good times
ahead.
It is a choice to keep things in perspective. He is
not wedded to the idea of completely retiring. He believes he will be active in
both nonprofit and for-profit institutions. He wants to keep his brain active
and alive.
