A great example of how e-commerce has shaped the consumer product industry is Nike’s relationship with Amazon. 

Nike did not sell directly on Amazon.com until very recently. They recognized that this was where their consumers were shopping and that they needed to manage and control their brand presence online. This was a watershed moment.
